Nearly 5lbs down in a week, I’ll take it. Sure, i would like it to be more, but it could be worse. The reality is we’ve (as usual) had a variety of distractions which have made eating well and getting to the gym difficult, there was a sprog birthday which meant cake, and she opted for a traditional birthday cake rather than a chocolate one which meant I couldn’t say no.

We’ve changed gym now and whilst there are pros and cons I am very happy with it so far. We decided to move because for pretty much what we were paying at the previous gym we now get a 30 minute PT session a week, which I’m not using at the moment and probably never will, but Vikki has used it and seemed to really enjoy her first session. The gym is a lot smaller, which means less equipment, but also less gym bros, in fact, so far no gym bros, it is pretty much empty bar one or two people when we go, so I am comfortable to use the cable machine and the free weights which I was avoiding previously because who wants to squeeze in amongst a bunch of posing bros… Given that I am now doing a lot more strength training the number on the scales could, should, be a bit skewed due to swelling and muscle growth of muscles that haven’t been worked for a LONG time. Hopefully I’ll at least manage to drop a few pounds a week, minimum, and if not, at least I am able to fit into my football shirts now, most of which still had the tags on because they’ve never fit. Yay.
