The Skinny Jab Round-Up

It’s official, I am now OFF of the skinny jab. I originally intended to stay on it a bit longer than 12 weeks, but it is what it is. So the important question is, was it worth it? Honestly, I don’t think I’ll know for sure for another 4 weeks or so yet. As things stand, it wasn’t bad. I didn’t suffer with anything worse than a little heartburn and excessive burping, I did feel fuller and had less cravings, and I ultimately lost weight. That being said, I had already been losing weight, I was eating the same diet and exercise the same as I was before starting the mounjaro jabs. It was easier to stick to my diet, it was easier to avoid the bad foods, but that’s all it did. I’m keen for people to realise it isn’t a magic potion, if you’re doing the hard work already then you’re not suddenly going to drop massive amounts of weight,it’s just going to make it easier to be happy about what you’re doing rather than being hangry 24/7. Obviously, if you are sat on your backside eating 5000 calories a day and suddenly only manage 1200, of course there is going to be big losses, initially. Anyway…

Between taking my first dose and the day that my next dose would have been due, 12 weeks, I managed to lose 48.9lbs. Losing that weight cost me nearly £400. Was it worth it? I don’t know, yet. I wasn’t paying to lose the weight, I was paying to give my head a break, to have a break from the struggle, to hopefully give myself the time I needed to break the bad habits that had formed over the years. I know, I got annoyed that I wasn’t losing more weight, but with a clear head, not looking at a number on the scale, I know that the lifestyle change is what I was investing in. Now I just need to hope that between breaking the habits, and having the extra motivation of really not wanting to be part of the statistic that says people put the weight back on, I’ll be able to manage to keep the weight off, and keep losing. It’s late, I’m tired, and I feel like I’m rambling. Long story short, bye bye mounjaro, fingers crossed bad habits have been broken, will cry if I put any weight back on.

Just for clarity, 12 weeks, 4 weeks at 2.5mg, 4 weeks at 5mg and 4 weeks at 7.5mg. Total cost close to £400. Total weight loss 48.9lbs. Weight loss in the 12 weeks prior 11.7lbs (although there was a lot of ups and downs, due to birthdays, Easter, holidays, etc.)
