Monday morning is here and that means at the end of this week we’re off to Egypt. That also means we have loads to do to get sorted. I am expecting a few deliveries today and I really don’t need the hassle of having to rearrange any missed deliveries so chances are we won’t be getting out for a walk today. Our clothes are nearly packed, but I have to try most of mine on, the last thing I want is to get there and find nothing fits because I doubt they do size obese at the knockoff market. I also have to start getting the other bits sorted, making sure powerbanks are charged for the kids, making sure we have all the necessary chargers, plugs, etc. I end up missing breakfast because I am distracted with other things.
For lunch I have what should be a cheat, pulled pork bbq mac and cheese. How the hell am I having that on a calorie restricted diet? It is definitely a great lunch option for anyone trying to restrict their calories because it is so disgusting you won’t want to eat it all. If you want to avoid it like I will be in future, it is The Gym Kitchen Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese. Definitely a waste of 411 calories, and I am grateful for my crisps and cheestring to replace the taste. I say taste, it isn’t just the taste that is bad, it’s the texture, it was like slightly dried wads of wet tissue. Lunch came to a disappointing total of 543 calories.
The disappointments just kept on coming today. For tea I had planned chicken and tomato risotto, cooked in the instant pot, but a brain fart meant that rather than the yummy meal that I have made and really enjoyed before, what we actually had was more soup than risotto. I ate it because it still tasted fine, but it wasn’t what I had been looking forward to. 676 calories.
As if that wasn’t enough, Vikki and I shared a protein cookie. The picture made it look amazing, yet in keeping with the pattern of the day it was massively disappointing. Definitely not a cookie, it was just a soft, slightly strange thing with an unpleasant taste. On top of that, it was supposed to be a stuffed gooey cookie….it was not. There was something in the middle of it, but it was not gooey. Another wasted 130 calories.
Even exercise was disappointing today. Between trying to get things ready for holiday, waiting for deliveries, and Darby sleeping at the most awkward times, we didn’t manage to get out for a walk. Then the gym, which was a shorter session than usual was nothing exciting, bike and treadmill for a total of 533 calories burned.
