OK, so the holiday is fast approaching and even though I know we are pretty much sorted, there is still the stress of trying to make sure everything is done. I miss breakfast again today, I know it isn’t the best option but a few days without breakfast won’t hurt, I’m sure I’ve got plenty of reserves somewhere…
After the culinary disappointments yesterday I decide to opt for the old trusty today, lunch is macaroni cheese and boy is it welcome. Add on a packet of puft crisps and a cheestring and we’ve got ourselves a meal. I know it might be boring but when you’re struggling through a diet there really is something to be said for finding some go to options that you know are going to get the job done every time. An enjoyable lunch for 620 calories.
I have to go for blood tests today, no problem, except for some reason the blood just doesn’t flow and I end up getting stabbed and poked until finally they find somewhere that just about manages to give up enough blood before the well runs dry. As much as I love taking Darby for a walk, leaving him tied up outside isn’t the best idea since he found his voice, so I walk down on my own, which at least means I get to actually walk rather than doing the stutter walk that I do when walking with Darby. It’s not a lot, but there and back nets me 271 calories burned.
Tea is another reliable option today, Crunchy Taco Bowls. There isn’t much to be said about taco bowls, except again to stress how yummy they are. Chicken italia mince, paprika and onion seasoning, southern fried seasoning, mix it all together and something magical happens. I top the bowls off with some mild salsa and a couple of dollops of sour cream and chives, meaning tea comes in at 818 calories.
Most days we go to the gym around 8pm, and although it isn’t empty, it is relatively quiet. Tuesdays we go just after 5pm, and boy is it a different world at that time. The place is absolutely packed and I am lucky to find an empty exercise bike. I want to get on the treadmill and air bike but every time I have a look they are all in use so I keep my bum planted on the exercise bike. I end up spending the whole time on the bike, which isn’t bad because I do enjoy it, and I change it up by switching between high intensity intervals and steady effort, but a brisk walk on the treadmill would have been welcome. When I get home I check a couple of online calculators because I’m not convinced that my watch is giving an accurate reading and that maybe it is reporting too high a number for calories burned, but if anything it is on the low end which gives me more confidence in it. For the 1 hour and 10 minutes, my watch say 1022 calories burned.
Having eaten relatively few calories, and having put in a shift on the bike, I decide I deserve a treat when we get home. a Gym Kitchen High Protein Chocolate Pudding, basically chocolate angel delight with fewer calories and more protein. I love angel delight, but I’m the only person in the house that does so I never make it because I don’t care what anyone says, you can’t have some and save some for later, and although I’ve done it in the past, downing a whole pack of angel delight really isn’t the best thing to be doing. Anyway, 131 calories of yummyness.
