Day Eleven

Today sucked. I don’t know why I did it, I know I should have waited, but the temptation was too much, I stepped on the scales and didn’t see what I hoped and in all honesty expected to see. I had gained. A week of working my backside off at the gym, a week of being strict on calories, and I gained. Given that, it made deciding what to do for breakfast really difficult. I could easily just reach for comfort food, order something yummy and greasy for breakfast and go off the rails, say sod it, what’s the point if I’m not getting anywhere. On the other hand, I didn’t want to eat anything, after all, when I’ve tried to be sensible with what I have eaten I have still somehow managed to gain weight, so the only option is to starve myself slim. To starve or to eat like a pig, that is the question. I opt for a porridge pot. 263 calories.

I don’t even have to think about what I am having for lunch. I know we have some thins left and I know I have a pack of corned beef in the fridge. It’s not exactly a fresh crunchy loaf of bread, each slice isn’t smothered in butter, but, it is still a corned beef sandwich, well, two corned beef sandwiches. Yes, I also had a packet of crisps and a cheestring. A very enjoyable 586 calories.

With our Egyptian adventure fast approaching we have a few jobs to tick off the list today so off to town we head. You’re not going to find it on any conventional exercise plan, but walking around town for a few hours burns some calories at least. To make it easier I promise the youngest child that if they can behave whilst we are in town then they can have a takeaway for tea. I didn’t really think this one through. We needed to get a drink whilst we were out and the shop we went in had a very limited selection with empty shelves dominating their drinks fridge. With a choice between an energy drink, fruit juice or milkshake, I go for a milkshake. An M&M Brownie milkshake to be exact, and boy do I wish I hadn’t. Definitely not a good use of 168 calories.

When it came to tea we had a question on our hands, do I cook the meal that I had planned, or do we just get a takeaway too considering we are already having to order something for the child. It’s not an easy decision, especially when I’m on Just Eat ordering pizza and I notice a baked bean pizza on the menu. Cheesy beans on pizza, add some bacon, sounds like heaven. Instead I just order dinner for the child and get on with cooking. Tea isn’t bad for us, it is something we both enjoy, but it’s not pizza. Rice Chicken Bolognese, with grated Parmesan cheese. It’s quick and easy to make, taste amazing and is nice and filling. But the child has pizza, and I ordered a large which means there is going to be probably half of it leftover. She also had chips dusted with chip spice. Sod it, we’ve been good, lets be a little naughty whilst we are restricted with how naughty we can be. So along with tea I have a slice of pizza and a small handful of fries, and I make sure to add them to Nutracheck. Yes, I could and probably should have done without the pizza and fries, but they were nice so…. 233 calories well spent, making tea a total of 862 calories.

Total calorie intake 1911

Total calorie expenditure through exercise…ummm….
