Today is going to be a bad day for the diet, or more specifically for weight loss. How do I know that? Because I feel rough and the day started off bad. I had an appointment at the doctors this morning, or so the lady who phoned me said. I said no, that’s tomorrow, she said it was today, Wednesday the 16th, I said isn’t today Tuesday? Oh, oops, here we go.
I opt for toast for breakfast. Not the best option, but I’m feeling rough so some toast with butter is going to be my medicine. I try to be sensible with the butter, but today the theme is going to be “it is what it is.” I could have been sensible and had brown toast, but let’s face it, brown toast doesn’t have the same healing properties of white toast. I know I’m going to be hungry soon, but in the moment I am enjoying myself. 448 calories.
At lunch I have a realisation, I need to pay better attention to things when I am buying ready meals. I get a korma out of the freezer and realise it is more calories than I had thought, not massively so, but enough that it makes me stop and think whether I should have something else. Sod it, I’m going to have to eat it eventually so why not now and just chalk it up as lesson learned. Compared to some ready meals that I have had it isn’t too bad. Sure, it might as well be advertised as rice korma because I’m pretty sure there is more chicken in my carpet than there is in the korma, but the flavour is actually pretty good and the rice is fine. I probably won’t be ordering it too often, but once in a while to hit the curry spot it will do until I find something better. Hmmm, I wonder how many days of lunch I could make from a jar of korma sauce and some chicken sausages…. Anyway, including my Puft crisps lunch totals 672 calories.
No walk today, not much of anything truth be told. Oh well, these days are going to happen occasionally, this is a life long journey, not a one day sprint, nothing to stress about.
The plan for tea was chicken burgers, but Vikki isn’t feeling up to eating much so I take the opportunity to have my steak and butter burgers from HECK. I don’t think the calories can be entirely accurate because learning from past mistakes I punctured the burgers before dishing them up, and half a bucked of melted butter ran out. I had some chips too because the kids were having chips, which gave me the opportunity to try something we bought from Egypt. Picture this, we’re in an Egyptian supermarket, seeing what sort of crisps they have. The answer is some amazing crisps. Anyway, we have a look around and end up down the spice aisle. I bought some herbs and spices home from Crete inspired by some of the food I ate there, but in Egypt there just isn’t anything that I feel I need, until we spot something. It is seasoning for popcorn, and chips, and anything you want to season, but the packaging says seasoning for popcorn. I love toffee popcorn, but I am well aware that some people have some freaky popcorn flavours, like cheese popcorn, what the hell is that? Anyway, pizza seasoning for popcorn. I’ve got to try it. We meant to try it with some popcorn from the hotel, but we just kept forgetting to take it out with us. We’re home now though and chips are on the menu, so out comes the pizza seasoning. It’s, ummm, something. Just putting a dash of it on I could tell it was a distinct flavour, so I kept it to a light dusting. So tea wasn’t great for calories, I forgot to weight the chips so no idea there, and my bagel burgers came in at 770 calories.
Bugger, I should have been tracking how many soothers I have too because no doubt they’re full of calories. That’s it, I’m a fatty because of halls soothers. Damn you EasyJet and your flying tube of recycled germs.
