The Holiday Lead In

In the days leading up to holiday there was a lot going on and a lot to get sorted and as such I haven’t been able to find the time to blog each day. We’ve also not been able to get to the gym for a few days, so I think it’s best to just accept that this blog is now in holiday mode or else I’m going to end up writing about days a week after they happened.

Whilst we are in Egypt it is going to be near enough impossible to accurately track calories, so rather than worrying about it I am just going to try to be sensible. I’m under no illusions, I am going to be eating more calories than I should, and probably not burning as many as I need to, but my step count is going to be high every day and no doubt I’ll get some actual swimming done at some point.

In all honesty, this break comes at a useful time as I had been thinking of getting away from the daily numbered posts because if I write them a day or two late then trying to figure out which day is which can be a pain, so after the break I think I’ll move to number weeks with the day in the title, which will make tracking weeks with weigh-ins a lot easier.

I am undecided on what to do after the holiday regarding a weigh-in. With all the last minute craziness I didn’t manage to weigh myself before leaving for holiday, which is disappointing but not the end of the world. I could weigh myself the day we get home, but a more attractive prospect for me is to wait until the following Monday to weigh, which will give me a few days to reset and not be depressed about how much I put on on holiday.

Anyway, as I write this the sun is shining and my feet are burning so I am off to jump in the pool.
