This blog is definitely helping. I could have so easily gone off the rails yesterday, and whilst I did have a slice of pizza and definitely could have been better, I pretty much stuck to the plan. Honestly, I’m still disheartened, and the motivation to keep putting myself through this is lacking, but forcing myself to take the time to reflect whilst writing this is keeping me on track.
With it being Sunday I know we’re not going to get to the gym today, which is actually a good thing because the arthritis in my knees is doing a number on me today, at least I hope it is just the arthritis and not something else to worry about. The point is, activity levels are going to be low today.
I know tea is low in calories which means I can be a bit more relaxed throughout the day. I don’t want to go too crazy, so the idea of a fry up or anything of the like is ignored, instead I settle for a couple of cheese bagels, I know, I’m a wild man. It’s not an all you can eat breakfast buffet but I enjoy it nonetheless. 591 calories.
We have a few things to do today, including stopping at the pet shop for yet another bed for Darby. Whilst we’re there we grab a few treats for him and I jokingly comment that Vikki can have the jazzies. I say jazzies, they’re definitely a dog treat, just in the form of jazzies. The guy behind the counter says that he has a regular customer who gets them because they are 0 sins on weight watchers. Ummmm….I don’t care how desperate I am to lose weight, I am not eating dog food.
What we have for lunch today could so easily go over the calorie budget, but I get the scales out and make sure to stick to the plan. Sourdough crumpets with butter. It’s tempting to have some peanut butter, but to make it worth having the calories are far too high. The butter I weigh and keep to a sensible amount. I also have a packet of crisps and a cheestring. 659 calories.
Tea is another favourite, dauphinoise potatoes, paired with HECK chicken Italia sausages and peas. It’s not a conventional Sunday dinner, but on a calorie restricted diet I am more than happy with it. I mean, I could do with some stuffing and Yorkshire pudding, but they’re so high in calories that I am happy to go without for now. The calories are so low that I double and triple check. 454 calories.
We know by now what Sunday is… Ice cream Sunday. I decided to try the ASDA equivalent of the low calories ice cream we have been having because it is near enough half the price. They only do it in cookie dough flavour, which I don’t mind because a good cookie dough ice cream is yummy. Unfortunately this ice cream is lacking any sort of flavour, the amount of cookie dough is laughable. For the calories it’s hard to complain because it is still ice cream, but after having the Halo Top stuff, this is just disappointing. 163 calories.
