Friday is always difficult. We don’t typically go to the gym on Friday, and it’s the end of the week and we all deserve a treat. Far too often in the past I’ve used it being Friday as an excuse to have a takeaway or to go out for a meal. Friday night is also date night, which can make dieting challenging. Not this week though, the kids are home so it’s Friday night on the sofa. The day doesn’t go much better either, with numerous parcels to be delivered, including those to be signed for, getting out with Darby is going to be a challenge.
I start the day off with a chocolate porridge pot. I’m up early after forgetting to take my meds last night so a breakfast drink just isn’t going to cut it today. The porridge pot may not be to everyone’s liking, but I am more than happy with them. Just add water, easy. 263 calories in the book.
Lunch is the same as yesterday, mac n’ cheese, with a side of hula hoops and a cheestring. Not much to say apart from that’s another 620 calories done.
Tea is where it is at today. One of our absolute favourites, taco bowls. I am a huge fan of Mexican food. I don’t handle heat too well, but anything Mexican, minus the heat, and I am all in. Tacos are high on the list, but the calories are also high, so to make sure I can still have something I enjoy, I’ve made a few adjustments. Rather than having mince in taco shells, I’ve ditched the taco shells and have mince in a bowl. Beef mince isn’t the best, so heck chicken Italia mince it is, which is completely scrummy. Add a sensible amount of half fat grated cheddar, and as much salad as you want, in this case in the shape of lettuce and cucumber. Once served I add a dollop of sour cream and a bit of salsa. Oh, and don’t forget the smashed tortilla chips, just in there to add a little crunch. If I didn’t use a spoon it would be finger licking good, and all for 551 calories (excluding sour cream and salsa).
Calories are low today, which means I have room for a treat. We recently stumbled onto Halo Top ice cream. It isn’t packed full of bits like some other brands, but the number of calories is science defying. Along with tubs, they also do Halo Top on a stick, think a naked Magnum. Honeycomb Crunch flavour. 80 calories. Now if that isn’t a cheat code then I don’t know what is.
Exercise was basically non existent today, not good I know but it is what it is.
