Day Two

Back to normal today. Face and mouth are no longer swollen, or at least not swollen enough to cause problems, it’s more just painful now from how swollen it had all been, and the back, whilst still a bit tender, is a lot better and shouldn’t restrict me at the gym.

I start the day off with a chocolate breakfast milk drink, mindful of the fact that I have been almost completely inactive for the previous couple of days. It’s fine though, the drink, coupled with a pair of Hunger Killa capsules is enough to get me through the morning. Breakfast, 168 calories.

Before lunch I take Darby for a walk. The plan is to take a longer route than usual, but as we get 5 minutes into the walk the weather decides that it is changeable and I am not dressed appropriately for the change, namely I could get absolutely soaked if we stay out too long. We manage to complete our usual short route in a little over 25 minutes, with my fitness tracker saying I managed to burn 353 calories, not too shabby for walking the dog.

Lunch is simple, ready meal mac n’ cheese, in the oven rather than the microwave because it tastes so much better. The mac n’ cheese is 488 calories, and I add a cheestring at 61 calories and a pack of Hula Hoops Puft, which are amazing and feel like a complete cheat at only 71 calories. All in lunch has cost me 620 calories.

Tea is a recipe that I put together on a whim, and it works really well, tomato and parmesan risotto with chicken sausages. It is easy to make, yummy and filling. To make things even better, it only sets me back 632 calories. It also helps towards our 5 a day, which needs all the help it can get. This is definitely going to become a regular.

After 2 days off I am happy to be heading back to the gym. We don’t have long because we have to pick up one of the kids at 9pm, so we have a little under an hour, but anything is better than nothing. I start off with 28 minutes on the stationary bike, working throw a warm up before moving onto intervals, getting my heart rate up to 147bpm and opening the sweat glands, burning off 352 calories according to my watch. Next up is some strength training for 12 minutes, not a lot but it’s a break from the bike to catch my breath. Finally I head back to the bike for another quick sweat, 6 minutes and 66 calories according to the watch. And for today, that’s all folks as we have to head off to play taxi.

As a post-gym treat a had a Cream Soda and Vanilla slush waiting for me, not great for me I know, but it tastes oh so good and is lovely to cool down after the gym. It was 105 calories well spent.

All things considered not a terrible day.

Total calorie intake 1820

Total calorie expenditure through exercise 902
